Awards and Honors Celebration

The School of Nursing will begin the awards and honors celebration with the Kandzari Rural Nursing Lectureship, presented by Dr. Joy Buck, Ph.D., RN. Dr. Buck is an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing. She has extensive experience in rural health, community outreach, and education. She will present a paper titled, “Rural Health Nursing: Connecting the Past to the Future.” Induction of new members into the Alpha Rho Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and recognition of student and faculty achievement will follow Dr. Buck’s presentation. All nursing students, family members, faculty, and staff are invited to attend the program and the reception that will follow in The Commons of the Health Sciences Center North. Ring Day Ceremony

West Virginia University invites students who purchase the official WVU class ring to attend a special ceremonial event called Ring Day. On Ring Day, students receive their rings, along with custom boxes, from WVU administrators. Each student’s name is then penned in the Ring Day book, a historical record of those who have received the official class ring. WVU students who have purchased the Official Class Ring will be invited to attend this ceremony, during which they are presented with their rings.
